The 2020 Whistler late Harvest Riesling was produced from a combination of Summerland and Bench 1775 estate fruit. The Summerland vineyard is located on Garnet Valley Rd and is a prime location for late harvest and ice wines. Our estate Riesling has always been used for ice wine and late harvest and produces award winning dessert wines. The two vineyards were harvested on the same day in mid-November and were pressed and fermented together. Picking was determined by assessing the level of dehydration in the fruit. Water loss helps concentrate flavors, and increases sugar levels. The Late Harvest Riesling is led by notes of red apples, citrus and honey. The palate is soft and smooth with lingering acidity.
